We’re using ForestNation tree growing kits to raise consciousness around our social and individual responsibility in sustainable topics. Aligned with ForestNations values, we think it’s important to act. Therefore, we think that this is one way of impacting positively both our students and the Planet. The most appealing part of ForestNation enterprise to us is the fact that it links economics to sustainability, one of the urges of our humanity. oikos and ForestNation both want to create the bridge between these two usually separated fields.
oikos Barcelona
oikos Barcelona is the local chapter of oikos International in Spain. We are a student-led non-profit organization for sustainability in economics and management. Our activities comprise local and international conferences, workshops, initiatives on and off-campus, simulation games, and other initiatives that provide platforms for learning, creating and sharing solutions.
Our social responsibility
On the 29th of November, we organized the Green Friday, which was a campus event to create awareness about the Black Friday consequences and more generally about overconsumption of our Earth’s resources. We hosted a debate about capitalism, several sustainable companies came to discuss sustainable solutions for a better future and the event offered also the opportunity of a sustainable professional fair.
Reforesting Tanzania
We are planting matching trees in Tanzania, creating sustainable livelihoods for local farming communities, and empowering local youth.
