Through the committed leadership of Joseph Zammit, Security – Health & Safety and Environmental Manager at Le Méridien St Julians, the hotel already actively contributed in energy conservation, controlling its carbon footprint by reducing the CO2emissions. Le Méridien St Julians also boasts a waste management program and encourages customers and employees alike to participate in environmental activities organized by the hotel. Increasing the percentage of local products in all purchasing aspects is also a key part of the program.
To involve the local community in green initiatives has really become a priority for the hotel in the past couple of years. Indeed, the hotel management strives to implement activities that are in accordance to the policies of the company, yet that have been tailor-made based on the hotel needs and on the local environmental legislations such as the “Plant a Tree” initiative that was held on Friday 4th October 2013.
