Central Middle School American Elm
planted by ,

Central Middle School in West Melbourne, Florida, planted an American Elm (Ulmus americana) on the west side of the school near the gym. Students and staff participated in support of Global Cooperation Day. The tree was donated by the Florida Association of Native Nurseries in support of Forest Nation’s effort to promote tree planting worldwide. The tree was grown and planted by Maple Street Natives, a local native nursery. Central Middle School has partnered with the Florida Native Plant Society, Conradina Chapter, to promote greater awareness of the benefits of using native plants in the landscape, and to create a greener and more sustainable landscape for the school.
