RSA Academy Partnership Tree
planted by ,

Friday 4th October was Global Cooperation Day and schools and other organisations had been encouraged to plant a tree to mark this important occasion. A national charity – forestnation.com – promised to plant a tree in one of several African countries to match every tree that was planted in the UK.The RSA Academy did their bit by planting a lovely Cotinus, smoke tree (Royal Purple) in one of the flower beds at the front of the building. This tree was generously donated by Mrs Fiona Carnie, who pupils (and many parents) will of course remember. The tree planting was completed by some Year 8 students ably assisted by Mr Kundalia, Mr Carter and Dave from the site team.  One of the students made a very touching comment – that the tree would grow as they grow! And that they would ‘watch out’ for it. You couldn’t ask for better than that.Photography by Mr Bissell.
