With the #COP26 conferences taking place in Glasgow right now, we wanted to check in with our Damia Group Forest in Tanzania.
Choosing to partner with ForestNation last Christmas was such a great decision. It’s all too common to find company Christmas gifts being well-intentioned, yet become forgotten about by the new year. The gift of planting a tree with ForestNation is a wonderful way to thank our clients for their support. It also lets them know that their gift is giving back the gift of hope for the future.
It’s the work of organisations with amazing initiatives like ForestNation, that help promote sustainability and gifts that give back to us all.

This year, we plan to send the ForestNation Tree Kits as Christmas gifts to our customers, suppliers and partners. Rather than the typical presents usually sent, we have decided to give something back – raising awareness and encouraging the recipients to register their tree, enabling our Damia Group Forest to grow, develop and flourish in Tanzania.
Damia Group is an international employee-owned recruitment organisation, founded in 1995. We specialise in introducing the ideal candidate to clients, and in doing so, we develop long and successful professional relationships.
We provide recruitment solutions that are cost effective and process efficient but client specific, a key reason for our consistently high client retention rate. We don’t believe in quick fixes – we strive to create long-term professional relationships supporting rewarding careers and impressive business benefits.
Whilst successful recruitment is about talent and skills, it’s also crucial to connect the right combination of people, enabling candidates and companies to thrive.
Our environmentally friendly and socially responsible journey is just beginning. Over the most recent years, we have tried to make a difference in our own small ways, from removing paper files and working almost fully electronically, to implementing a charity fundraising snackbox – all donations sent to a local charity as voted for by our employees.
We hope that these small steps we have taken, alongside our ForestNation campaign, will lead us in the right direction to making a difference towards becoming more environmentally conscious.
ForestNation’s mission – “to help humanity thrive by re-connecting us to nature and to each other”, really fits in with our environmental goal. We wanted to send something different for Christmas this year, and the branded tree kits enabled us to reconnect with our community and remind them of the importance of this cause.

Apart from creating our own forest, we hope that we can make a difference and raise awareness within our own community, by supporting the livelihoods of the indigenous tree planting communities in Tanzania, by creating local jobs producing and planting fruit trees, for these people to harvest. This will in turn create sustainable livelihoods for their future benefits. We also hope that our partners will get involved in giving back to the planet!
