Northern Soul Homeware was formed from as a hobby by boyfriend and girlfriend duo, Chris and Abbi, and soon became a passion we wanted to pursue to be able to give everyone the feeling of minimalist luxury with an affordable price. With Chris' skills of concrete making, sanding and polishing and Abbi's keen eyes and nose for fragrances and homeware we soon realised that our relationship was purposed for combining our skills and passion to create something that we both love to do together!

Handmade in Salford, Manchester, we turn designs and ideas into realities that make homeware pieces and fragrance that people enjoy and indulge in.

Northern Soul Homeware is all about designs and ideas that help promote soulfulness, mindfulness and serenity. We’re also big on sustainability and we firmly believe in being the little changes that the world needs to create a bright and happy future. We want to inspire and motivate others not only by our products but by our beliefs and values!

What are we currently doing to be sustainable? 

From start to finish everything is brainstormed, designed, made and packaged by the two of us! Using a 3D printer we print out moulds for our concrete homeware using a plant sugared plastic which is easily recycled, then using our vacuum former to create extra moulds again using recycled plastic. We hope to see one day that the plastic is completely gone from our society and that we will no longer have to use recycled plastic! All of our homeware products are then created using concrete, yes you read that right, concrete! We found that due to the nature of concrete such as its strength, durability and its heat resistance properties it made to be a good, sustainable material to create homeware.

Let’s talk home fragrance! Our wax melts and candles are made from a 100% soy or coconut wax, no room for those nasty paraffins here. Our fragrance oils are also not animal tested. Our wax melt clamshells are manufactured in the UK and are made of 500 micron plastic, not only are they 100% recyclable they are also made with 88% recycled plastic. Again we hope to one day have a complete alternative to this but as it stands at the moment there is nothing on the market, if anyone has any suggestions please feel free to contact us! 

And now last not but not least packaging…

We use biodegradable packing peanuts in our packages to help protect your orders, these little peanuts completely dissolve under running water! We also use kraft hive paper to wrap up your homeware pieces to protect them as an alternative to bubble wrap. You may notice that there are no packing slips included in your order this is to reduce the amount of paper and ink we are using!
