Many villagers, impressed with our efforts, came off their houses with hoes and spades just to assist in planting the trees. A good thing with this operation was the fact that none of them asked for something in return understanding that the trees were meant for them and their future.
In Haiti we are re-establishing a culture of tree planting with local communities and farmers. Making landowners self-sufficient through agroforestry and educating people about reforestation benefits.
