The grandeur of the Perito Moreno Glacier

The grandeur of the Perito Moreno Glacier

Few words can describe the grandeur of the Perito Moreno Glacier near El Calafate, in fact I can’t think of one grand enough. It simply is a spectacular part of the Los Glaciares National Park and an awesome experience.

It sounds like a wild African thunder storm rolling from deep within the glacier when a block of ice breaks off and drop into the Argentino Lake below.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is one of many in the Southern Ice Field of Patagonia and are protected under different National Parks such as the Torres del Paine in Chile and the Los Glaciares in Argentina both beautiful National Parks filled with mountains, forests and lakes. The Southern Ice Field contains some of the largest Glaciers outside of Antarctica and is a vital source of fresh water for the southern parts of South America and the healthy growth of the many beautiful forests that surround it.
