My name is Victoria S Bangura I am twenty (20) year old, a Sierra Leonean by nationality.
I attended the Gat Way International School here in Conakry Guinea up to grad 12 and sat to the West Africa Senior Certificate Examination which I passed with good grads. Now I am Studying Public Relation.
The passion to create Let the Women Speak came to me after a sad discussion with my childhood school mate who were forced by her parents to married to a rich man in their community how have already married to three wives and she became the fourth wife. She said ’’after the death of my husband, I became a widow with three children been the last wife and the youngest among them, the younger brother of my late husband said I should become his wife as their tradition demands but I denied saying I think this time I should marry a man of my choice. He was angry and said if I don’t married to him me and my three children will not inherit anything from my husband I thought he was joking until one morning when I saw some elders in my apartment asking me to move out of the house with only my bag and that I don’t belong to their family any more’’.
I cried bitterly while she was explaining at the end I said women must have their right and they must be heard. This is how I started this organization.
