The ME Week Forest is Growing

ME Week Tree Planting 2023

Have you heard about Manufacturing and Engineering Week 2023?

Manufacturing and Engineering Week honours the finest in British manufacturing and engineering innovation and excellence, with the goal of promoting sustainable manufacturing and engineering in the UK. It accomplishes this by showcasing comprehensive manufacturing and engineering solutions that will promote trade, information exchange, and industry-wide action.

It features a series of co-located events including Design and Engineering Expo, Drives and Controls, Smart Factory Expo and Maintec, all of which cover the entire product lifecycle from design, engineering, manufacturing and maintenance and seeks to share successes, raise critical discussion and is a destination for professionals to source products and services in order to keep them competitive.

We have collaborated with them as part of their sustainability pledge, where they have offset their carbon emissions by planting over 5,000 trees in the ME Week Forest in Tanzania! From the event in 2022, 5,472 trees have already been planted. Manufacturing and Engineering Week 2023 will once again be carbon-neutral because of the expansion of the show this year, which will result in the planting of an additional 3,380 trees!

Key Sessions which touch on Sustainability

At Manufacturing and Engineering Week 2023, hear panel sessions and real-life case studies from those that have already made huge progress towards their net zero goals and find out how to effectively implement sustainable manufacturing techniques to reduce costs and waste, increase productivity, achieve market differentiation and comply with regulations.

In case you missed it…

We recently took part in a podcast, run by the researchers of Manufacturing and Engineering Week, The Manufacturer. This podcast featured Richard Lloyd, General Manager of wine and spirits company, The Park, and our very own, Andrew Frankland, Director of Operations, ForestNation who gave his expert insights on sustainable practices. He also discussed the impact created with local communities in Tanzania, thanks to the ME Week Forest.
