Our founder, Andrew Pothecary, didn’t set out to build a gifting company.
He started ForestNation because he couldn’t stay quiet about something we all feel:
We’re surrounded by stuff that ends up in landfills…
while forests disappear, communities struggle, and our connection to nature fades.
It didn’t make sense –
not to him,
not to the people receiving those gifts,
and not to the planet carrying the weight of our habits.
From Swag to Meaning
For years, Andrew watched companies spend billions on promotional products and corporate gifts that were quickly forgotten.
At the same time, he saw how much the world needed:
- restored forests
- sustainable livelihoods
- and ways for people to feel that their choices matter
The gap between those two realities became impossible to ignore.
So he started asking a different kind of question.
The Question That Changed Everything
The question was simple:
What if every gift we give could grow something?
Not just grow a brand.
But grow life.
What if a corporate gift could plant a forest instead of creating more waste?
What if a small gesture between people could restore ecosystems on the other side of the world?
That question became ForestNation.
