Now there are healthy and unhealthy ways to cope with stress. Unhealthy ways like drinking and binge eating give you a temporary feeling of relief but don’t do anything to alleviate the stress. If anything, they present additional health risks.

Spend time with your loved ones

Spending with your family especially if the source of your stress is work-related helps channel your energy to more positive vibes and takes your focus off work.

Instead of working too much at the expense of your social life, deliberate create time in your schedule to meet and mingle with friends and family.

While at it, do not bring any office work home. The goal is take yourself out of everything to do with work.

Exercise regularly

Exercise is one of the best things that you can do to relieve stress and stay healthy. Take breaks from your desk every hour and if you enroll in a gym. Strength training is one of the proven ways to de-compress, lower your cortisol levels and stimulate the production of endorphins.

Speak up

Speak out when you are getting overworked in the office. Unfortunately, many people would rather keep quiet than speak up. Most of the time, this kind of stress will often lead to depression because of the fear of appearing unfocused to your boss or supervisor.

Don’t agree to a new task when you are already overwhelmed with your current responsibilities.

Find a hobby

Find something creative outside work to help you deal with your stress. This can be music, writing, taking dance classes, or even going on a road trip to clear your mind once on a while.
