300 million tonnes of plastic is produced each year, half of this is used once and thrown away & 8 million tonnes of it ends up in our oceans. Plastic Oceans aims to solve this problem within one generation by challenging society’s perception that this indestructible substance could ever be treated as ‘disposable’. Our documentary feature film, “A Plastic Ocean” is just the beginning of our efforts. The film examines the extent of the problem but most importantly it shows us the ways that we can turn it around, not just through knowledge and behavioural changes but with amazing new technology. It has the potential to benefit our health and that of our children, our environment and our seas and to potentially force government and industry to sit up and take notice.
